The MAX20414ATGA/V are high-efficiency, dual-output, low-voltage DC-DC converters. the OUT1 output boosts the input voltage to as high as 8.5 V with a current of up to 750 mA, while the synchronous buck-type converter (OUT2) operates over a 3.0 V to 5.5 V input voltage range, providing a 0.8 V to 3.8 V output voltage with a load current of up to 3 A. Over the entire load, supply and temperature ranges, the buck converter can achieve ±2% accuracy and the buck converter can achieve ±1.5% accuracy.
The ICs can operate in 2.2MHz fixed-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) mode for better noise immunity and load transient response, or in pulse frequency modulation (SKIP) mode to ensure efficient operation at light loads. 2.2MHz operation allows the use of all-ceramic capacitors, which minimizes the footprint of external components. Programmable spread spectrum modulation minimizes electromagnetic emissions. The integrated low RDS(ON) switch greatly improves efficiency at heavy loads and simplifies circuit layout compared to discrete solutions.
The IC's buck converter uses a factory preset or resistor-adjustable output voltage, and the buck converter output voltage is factory preset. Other features include soft-start, over-current and over-temperature protection. The high-efficiency, dual-output, low-voltage DC-DC converters are available in a lead-free, 24-pin, TQFN package.
