According to the latest reports from foreign media, SK Hynix, the storage chip manufacturer of SK Group, has started to use AI technology in the production process of semiconductor products.


According to foreign media reports, SK Hynix revealed on Tuesday local time that it had begun to introduce AI solutions into the production process of semiconductors to improve production efficiency and yield.

In the report, foreign media mentioned that SK Hynix introduced a virtual measurement AI solution called "Panoptes VM" developed by Gauss Lab, which predicts the results of the production process through sensor data.


SK Hynix currently introduces the artificial intelligence solution of Gauss Lab into the film deposition process. Thin film deposition is the key process to cover the thin film on the wafer. The thickness and reflectivity of the thin film directly affect the quality of the semiconductor. However, because the thin film is very thin and small, measuring the thin film on each wafer requires a lot of time and resources.

Foreign media mentioned in the report that after the introduction of the "Panoptes VM" artificial intelligence solution of Gauss Lab, SK Hynix increased the dispersion of the process by 21.5% on average while increasing the output.


Gauss Lab focuses on industrial AI, and SK Hynix has also invested in this laboratory. After "Panoptes VM" plays a role in the film deposition process, SK Hynix and Gauss Lab are expected to use this AI solution in more process links.
