On November 18, MobileTech, a leading global provider of IoT and Telematics solutions, today announced the official release of its new generation Cellular Telematics (C-V2X) module, AG18, which uses PC5 direct communication to support information interoperability between vehicles and between vehicles and their surroundings, and to improve driving safety and traffic efficiency based on this.

According to the report, AG18 supports C-V2X PC5 direct communication and is able to be used in any region of the world without relying on SIM cards, cellular network assistance or coverage. It uses the globally harmonised ITS 5.9GHz band to provide low-latency, highly reliable information transmission for vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P), capturing the status and intent of traffic participants in over- or non-visual range to avoid traffic accidents.

In addition to supporting excellent C-V2X communication capabilities, AG18 also provides flexible and rich positioning capabilities, including optional L1+L5 dual-frequency GNSS positioning, high-pass heading projection (QDR3), and high-precision PPE (RTK), enabling global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to freely choose positioning technologies that are more closely aligned with their application needs.

Based on Qualcomm's SA415M platform and developed and manufactured in strict accordance with the IATF 16949:2016 automotive industry quality management system standard, the AG18 module can withstand harsh environmental tests, has superior anti-static and anti-electromagnetic interference performance, and can meet the needs of vehicle safety driving, automotive autonomous driving, intelligent transportation systems and other applications.

In terms of design, the AG18 is compatible with the AG15, the first generation C-V2X module from MobileTech, and can be seamlessly migrated and upgraded by simple direct replacement of existing customer equipment, greatly reducing design costs and development time. At the same time, AG18 has feature-rich interfaces such as PCIe, USB 3.0/2.0, SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC and 1pps, making it convenient for customers to develop technical solutions for TCU, T-BOX, V-BOX, RSU and other terminal applications.
