MobileTech, a total IoT solution provider, has launched the RG620T, a new 5G R16 module based on MediaTeks T830 platform.

The RG620T is available in two large models, the RG620T-NA for North America and the RG620T-EU for EMEA, Asia Pacific and Brazil, targeting the global 5G FWA application market and the "last mile" network needs of homes and businesses. The RG620T-EU is designed for the global 5G FWA application market, which is the "last mile" of network demand for homes and enterprises. The module not only provides the higher 5G network rate, quad-core A55 CPU, Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and other features of the T830 chip platform, but also provides antenna band design, Flash memory, QuecOpen upgrade to meet the needs of the 5G FWA market for high performance and flexible configuration of 5G terminals. The MediaTek T830 is equipped with a quad-core A55 CPU and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.


The MediaTek T830's 5G module RG620T is 3GPP R16 compliant and supports the 5G Sub-6GHz band and 5G SA / NSA dual networking modes.


In terms of data, the RG620T supports up to 300MHz downlink bandwidth and NR 4CA (Quad Carrier Aggregation) in both FDD and TDD modes, enabling 5G download rates of up to 7.01Gbps in the built-in module, and up to 200MHz uplink bandwidth and NR 2CA (Dual Carrier Aggregation), allowing maximum uplink rates of up to 2.5Gbps. The RG620T's large bandwidth allows for real-time wireless transmission of HD XR content, and its low latency technology helps to mitigate vertigo caused by picture delays, enabling an immersive experience that blends the real and digital worlds.


For CPE and other terminal manufacturers, the RG620T is equipped with a 4nm T830 platform with an integrated Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU running at 2.2GHz and a built-in M80 5G modem. The RG620T can be used as a complete terminal product, effectively utilizing the spare CPU performance inside the chip to improve processing performance and save costs.


In addition, the SOC socket solution does not require Host docking routing, helping customer terminals to reduce the debugging process for later USB or PCIe interfaces without the limitations of either to achieve ultra-high throughput for network connectivity. The RG620T also features the hardware-grade MediaTek Network Processing Unit, Wi-Fi Offload Engine, and MediaTek 5G UltraSave power saving technology, which will further improve 5G communication power consumption while reducing Throughput performance.


The RG620T has also been upgraded at the Wi-Fi and antenna levels to improve the range and efficiency of end-use applications. While supporting EasyMesh™ and the more secure WPA3 R3 encryption protocol, the RG620T offers a variety of Wi-Fi configurations depending on the scenario and terminal requirements, such as a tri-band 4x4 Wi-Fi 7 solution for 5G CPE terminal scenarios, or a dual-band 2x2 Wi-Fi 7 solution for 5G mobile hotspot devices, especially the Wi-Fi 7 For 5G mobile hotspot devices, a dual-band 2x2 Wi-Fi 7 solution is available, especially with Wi-Fi 7, which comes with faster transmission speeds, wider channels, more efficient QAM modulation and adaptive connectivity, allowing the terminal to integrate both 5G high speed and Wi-Fi 7 high concurrency technology.


In addition, the RG620T's antenna design allows for 8 antennas to receive signals simultaneously, which will bring high speed and stable 5G networks to complex indoor environments and long distance outdoor environments.


The RG620T supports additional customisation and options. For example, for the Flash memory storage device, customers can choose different combinations of DDR and Flash storage capacity according to the project needs of the terminal to be put into the market later, providing a more customized memory configuration to match the project needs. At the same time, the module will continue to use Mobile's self-developed QuecOpen platform to help customers improve terminal development efficiency and shorten time to market.
