The Honor 80 series will be launched on November 23 at 14:30 at the Honor MagicOS and flagship launch event, but it won't have the expected Snapdragon 8 Gen2. Honor has now officially announced that the Honor 80 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 flagship chip.

The standard version of the Honor 80 is not the Snapdragon 778G Plus that everyone thought it would be, but the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G processor, while the most powerful version of the Honor 80 Pro is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 flagship platform, but only at 3.0GHz.

Digital bloggers say that this chip uses a lower frequency version of the Snapdragon 8+ with a 3.0GHz Cortex-X2 super core, three 2.5GHz Cortex-A710 large cores and four 1.8GHz Cortex-A510 small cores, while the full-blooded Snapdragon 8+ is 1× 3.2GHz X2 + 3× 2.75GHz A710+ 4× 2.0 GHz A510.

The Honor 80 series is said to be a "new aesthetic benchmark" and, according to official publicity, it features a "pill-shaped" camera module on the front. In addition, the rear camera module forms an '8' shape, echoing the name. The back of the device is textured like a blue wave and has a very design feel to it.

According to previous reports, there will be three versions of the Honor 80 series, including the Honor 80 SE, Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro.

The Honor 80 SE will be equipped with a MediaTek 1080 chip, a 50-megapixel dual-camera front-facing dual-hole micro-curved screen, a 160-megapixel f/1.8 triple camera on the rear, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 processor and a large 66W flash battery.

In addition to the Honor 80 series, the MagicOS system and the Magic Vs series of folding phones will also be officially launched at the Honor MagicOS and Flagship launch event.
