Apple has launched its next generation Apple TV 4K set-top box with the A15 Bionic chip, support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision and the new Siri Voice Remote, and for the first time, a switch to USB-C charging.

On October 25, Apple launched a new generation of Apple TV 4K set-top box with A15 Bionic chip, support for HDR10+, Dolby Vision and the new Siri Voice Remote, switching to USB-C port charging for the first time.

The new generation set-top box has been adjusted from a starting capacity of 32GB to 64GB for $129 (about Rmb930), with an additional 128GB capacity available for $149.


In response, analysts at Tianfeng International believe that the next generation Apple TV could be sold at a lower price point.


According to the report, the next generation Apple TV 4K is equipped with the A15 Bionic chip, resulting in a 50% increase in CPU performance and a 30% increase in GPU performance over the previous generation.


Of note is that as a smart home hub, Apple TV 4K can connect to compatible smart home accessories including HomeKit cameras, lights, curtains and more.
