This year, Xinjiang completed an investment of RMB 1.65 billion in 5G construction and built more than 10,000 5G base stations.

October 16, according to Xinjiang Daily, this year, Xinjiang completed 5G construction investment of 1.65 billion yuan and built more than 10,000 5G base stations. So far, Xinjiang has built more than 30,000 5G base stations, a net increase of 58.2% compared to the end of the previous year.

According to the report, Xinjiang has nearly 12 5G base stations per 10,000 people, and all prefecture-level cities, county cities and 90.53% of townships have achieved 5G network coverage, further deepening the coverage of 5G networks to counties and villages following the historic achievement of "village broadband" in Xinjiang's administrative villages.


Data shows that the number of 5G mobile phone users in Xinjiang has increased to 7.779 million, accounting for 26.2% of the total number of mobile phone users; the number of 5G mobile phone terminal connections reached 11.277 million, accounting for 38.0% of the total number of mobile phone users.


According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of August, the total number of 5G base stations in China reached 2.102 million, accounting for 19.8% of the total number of mobile base stations. Of these, 677,000 new 5G base stations were built between January and August.


In addition, by the end of August, the total number of mobile phone subscribers of China's three basic telecommunications enterprises reached 1.678 billion. Of these, 492 million were 5G mobile phone subscribers, accounting for 29.4% of mobile phone subscribers.
