The NPM1100-QDAA-R7 is an ultra-small power management IC (PMIC) for battery charging and power supply.

Overview:

The Nordic Semiconductor nPM1100 power management IC combines a PMIC, a dual-mode configurable step-down regulator, and an integrated battery charger. The nPM1100 is a natural fit for the Nordic nRF52 and nRF53 series system-on-chip (SoC), but is also ideal for any product with a small rechargeable battery. The design ensures reliable power supply and stable operation while maximizing battery life through high efficiency and low static current.

The Nordic nPM1100 power management IC has an extremely compact form factor that makes it ideal for use in advanced wearables, connected medical devices, and other size-constrained applications. The PCB footprint can be as low as 23mm2.

The integrated battery charger is designed to charge lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries with a choice of terminal voltages of 4.1V or 4.2V, support for battery chemistry, and nominal voltages of 3.6V and 3.7V respectively. The maximum charging current can be selected through the resistor in the range of 20mA to 400mA.

The nPM1100 PMIC includes a USB-compatible system regulator with USB port detection for SDP, CDP, and DCP USB master ports, supports 100mA and 500mA USB current limits, and USB power supply voltage ranges from 4.1V to 6.6V.

The nPM1100 PMIC works without software and is compatible with all components that can operate in the output voltage range and power the PMIC.
