The LP8865WQDMTRQ1 device is an automotive 65V 2A step-down LED driver with flexible dimming options.

Overview:

The LP8865-Q1 series is a non-synchronous multi-topology solution with a wide input range of 4.5V to 65V. By integrating a low-side NMOS switch, the device is able to drive leds with high power density and high efficiency. The series also supports common cathode connections and single-layer PCB designs. The switching frequency can be configured in the range of 100kHz to 2.2MHz and has an optional spread frequency function for better EMI performance.

The LP8865-Q1 series supports four dimming options, including analog dimming, PWM dimming, hybrid dimming, and flexible dimming. Each dimming method can be configured using simple high and low level signals via PWM and ADIM input pins. The series features adaptive turn-off time current mode control and intelligent, precise sampling for inductive fast dimming (IFD) and high light accuracy.

The LP8865-Q1 series also offers a variety of system protections, including LED open and short circuits, resistance open and short circuits, configurable thermal reentry and thermal shutdown. Once any fault conditions are detected, the fault output sends a confirmation signal.
