The NXP NCJ29D5 is the first in a family of next-generation ultra-wideband (UWB) ICs dedicated to meeting the connectivity and functional safety needs of the global automotive industry. It enables several compelling new use cases.


UWB ICs enable the car to know the exact location of the user. For the first time, smartphone-based car access offers the same convenience as a best-in-class remote key. Users will be able to turn on and start their car with their mobile phone in their pocket or bag, and enjoy secure remote parking via their smartphone. In addition, the new UWB IC minimises the risk of car theft through relay attacks.
