Overview

The ECE1200-I/LD eSPI to LPC bridge implements the eSPI standard on boards that use traditional LPC connectors and peripherals. The architecture and development of ECE1200-I/LD ensure that industrial and embedded requirements can be scaled across Intel Atom®, Intel Core™ and Intel Xeon® platforms. These key requirements include industrial temperature support, compatibility with existing deployed LPC-based modular systems, and simultaneous support for eSPI and LPC for the new system architecture.


The ECE1200-I/LD is directly powered by two suspended (S5) power layers with rated voltages of 3.3V and 1.8V. A 1.8V power supply is provided on two sets of pins, with VTR_18 for the I/O pin and VTR_18_CORE for the internal logic. The 3.3V power supply VTR_33 is only used for the 3.3V I/O pin. The ECE1200-I/LD uses the pin LPC_EN to sense the runtime power layer (VCC), which is designed for the PCH_PWROK signal provided by the system. In this way, the ECE1200-I/LD can simulate the VCC power supply function on the appropriate pins to avoid reverse drive in the system.


The ECE1200-I/LD eSPI to LPC bridge is easy to use and requires no software at all. The ECE1200-I/LD can detect and support modern standby modes, featuring a low standby current. This enables it to manage operational costs and efficiency while maintaining the characteristics expected by end users for modern devices.
