Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (Vishay) announced the launch of a new series of industrial-grade multi-turn surface mount metal ceramic trimmer potentiometers -TSM41. The Vishay Sfernice TSM41 series devices are specifically designed for space-constrained applications in harsh environments. They measure only 4mm x 4mm, operate within a temperature range of -55 °C to +140 °C, and have a sealing rating of IP67.

Compared with the previous generation of devices, the recently released trimmer potentiometer has a 42% reduction in size, which is convenient for designers to save circuit board space and optimize package density. In addition, the TSM41 series can be fine-tuned within a wide resistance range of 10W to 1MW, and its setting speed is faster than that of single-turn fine-tuning potentiometers. The device has a rated power of 0.25W at +85 °C and features both top and side adjustment methods, which can flexibly meet various design requirements.

The TSM41 series can be directly fixed on PCBS, supporting automated PCB assembly and setup processes, which enhances production efficiency, shortens time and reduces costs at the same time. The fine-tuning potentiometer is fully sealed and can withstand the cleaning treatment of standard circuit boards, ensuring reliability in welding equipment, power tools, smoke detectors, and HVAC cooling systems.

The TSM41 series is now available for sample and has achieved mass production, with a supply cycle of 15 weeks.
