The TCAN1042HVDR is a high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver that is fully compliant with the ISO 11898-2 (2016) standard. Designed to meet the stringent bandwidth and reliability requirements of modern in-vehicle networks and industrial applications, it is perfectly suited to support flexible data rate (CAN FD) communications up to 5 Mbps. Available in a small SOIC-8 package (TCAN1042HVDR), the device integrates several advanced fail-safe features to ensure robust communication in harsh electrical environments.

TCAN1042HVDR Core Features 

High-Speed CAN FD Support: Fully compatible with legacy CAN and high-speed CAN FD protocols, the TCAN1042HVDR delivers data rates up to 5 Mbps, significantly increasing network throughput.

Bus pin short-circuit protection against ±58V DC power supply

Dominant timeout protection (TXD DTO) 

Fail-safe receiver input ( Fail-safe receiver input (ensures RXD output is high when bus is idle or floating) 

Low Power Management: Supports standby mode (remote wake-up detection) and sleep mode (very low quiescent current) to effectively reduce system power consumption, especially for battery-powered or power-sensitive applications.
