VSC7422XJG-04 Device Description

The VSC7422 is the industry's first fully-integrated 25-port Gigabit Ethernet (GE) switch with 12 Cu PHYs in a single package, which, when combined with Microchips' 12-port PHY, the VSC8512, enables the design of 25-port switches with only two ICs. The VSC7422 uses 65nm technology and is one of the industry's most cost-effective and power-efficient solutions. It includes state-of-the-art IEEE 802.3az energy-efficient Ethernet features to bring green technology solutions to market. Rich Ethernet switching features such as Layer 2 forwarding with VLAN and QoS processing provide differentiated services, and the VSC7422 includes an 8051 CPU that provides a comprehensive application software package for LED control, loop indication, device overheat protection, and other enhancements.
