The Xilinx Zynq®-7000 SoC first-generation architecture is a flexible platform that provides fully programmable alternatives for legacy ASIC and SoC users while enabling new solutions.The ARM® Cortex™-A9 processor is available in dual-core (Zynq-7000) and single-core (Zynq-7000S) Cortex-A9 configurations. Available in dual-core (Zynq-7000) and single-core (Zynq-7000S) Cortex-A9 configurations, the ARM® Cortex-A9 processor offers integrated 28nm programmable logic with performance-per-watt that exceeds the power and performance of discrete processors and FPGA systems. These features make the Zynq-7000 SoC an excellent choice for a variety of embedded applications, including small cell base stations, multi-camera driver assist systems, machine vision for industrial automation, medical endoscopes, and 4K2K Ultra HD TVs.


The Zynq-7000 SoC first generation architecture is optimised for improved performance per watt and maximum design flexibility. The dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor integrates 7-series programmable logic (up to 6.6M logic cells and 12.5Gb/s transceivers), providing highly differentiated designs for a wide range of embedded applications.The Zynq-7000S Soc is a cost-optimised entry-level version of the Zynq-7000 SoC with a single-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor. Equipped with 28nm Artix-7 based programmable logic, the Zynq-7000S device is ideally suited for industrial IoT applications such as motor control and embedded vision.
