Overview
The TLK2501IRCPR is a member of the multi-gigabit transceiver series for ultra-high-speed bidirectional point-to-point data transmission systems. The TLK2501IRCPR supports an effective serial interface speed of 1.5 Gbps to 2.5 Gbps and can provide a data bandwidth of up to 2 Gbps. The TLK2501IRCPR is pin-compatible with the TLK2500. The TLK2501 is pon-compatible with the TLK1501 (0.6 to 1.5 Gbps transceiver) and the TLK3101 (2.5 to 3.125 Gbps transceiver), sharing the same functions and offering a variety of performance solutions without the need to change the circuit board layout.
The main application of TLK2501IRCPR is to provide a very high-speed I /O data channel for point-to-point baseband data transmission through approximately 50 controlled impedance media. The transmission medium can be printed circuit boards, copper cables or optical fiber cables. The maximum rate and distance of data transmission depend on the attenuation characteristics of the medium and the noise coupled with the environment.
The TLK2501IRCPR can also be used to replace the parallel data transmission architecture, trace quantity, connector terminals and send/receive terminals. The parallel data loaded into the transmitter is transmitted to the receiver through a serial channel, which can be a coaxial copper cable, a controlled impedance backplane or an optical link. Then rebuild it back into its original parallel format. Compared with the existing solutions, it can significantly save power consumption and costs, and can achieve scalability for higher data rates in the future.
The TLK2501IRCPR adopts a high-performance, heat-resistant enhanced 64-pin VQFP PowerPAD package. There is no need for any special consideration when using PowerPAD packaging. Just note that PowerPAD is a metal thermal conductor and electrical conductor, and it has an exposed chip pad at the bottom of the device. It is recommended to solder the TLK2501 PowerPAD to the heat dissipation area on the circuit board. All AC performance specifications in this data sheet are measured using a PowerPAD soldered to the test board.
The TLK2501IRCPR provides an internal loopback function for self-checking. Serial data from the serializer is directly passed to the deserializer, allowing protocol devices to perform functional self-checks on the physical interface.
The TLK2501IRCPR has hot-swappable functionality. The on-chip power-on reset circuit keeps RX_CLK at a low level during power-on. During the power-on period of this circuit, the output signal terminals on the parallel side, as well as DOUTTXP and DOUTTXN, remain in a high-impedance state.
