Introduction

Knowles AISonic Audio Edge Processor IA8201CQ is a high-performance, ultra-low-power, audio-centric OpenDSP available in a QFN package with support for up to 4 microphones, multiple high-speed interfaces, and GPIO.


The IA8201CQ supports voice wake processing, noise reduction, situational awareness, and accelerated machine learning reasoning for low-latency voice UI for edge processing of sensor inputs.

Scope of application

Low-power voice Wake up: Listen for specific OEM keywords to wake up the host processor. Large memory allows multiple stages to be processed on the chip for accurate results.

Proximity detection: The IA8201CQ detects the distance between the system and the object when paired with an ultrasound enabled speaker and microphone; It can replace the IR-Prox sensor in bezel-less phones.

Hub: Determines the location of the voice source while blocking out noisy environments and lowering the music to detect voice commands. Simultaneously accepts metadata input and overrides the beamformers to focus on the object tracked by the camera.

Security system: Activated by voice commands. Detect broken glass/smoke alarms, record the direction of the noise source, trigger the alarm, and send the alarm via Wi-Fi connection.

Wireless earbuds: The IA8201CQ provides low-power premium voice wake performance, error-triggered call detection elimination, improved voice quality with advanced beamforming and noise reduction algorithms, and support for local commands, including answer/ignore calls.

Memory: 1.44 MB RAM (1 MB available to users)
