Overview:

The MP4321 is a synchronous buck switching converter with configurable frequencies (350kHz to 2.5MHz) that integrates internal high - and low-end power MOSFETs (HS-FET and LS-FET, respectively). The MP4321 achieves high efficiency output current (IOUT) of up to 1A in peak current control mode. With a wide 3.3V to 36V input voltage (VIN) range and 42V load drop tolerance, these converters can be used for a variety of buck applications in automotive input environments. 1μA off current (ISD) enables the device to be used in battery-powered applications.

The MP4321 configurable frequency buck converter reduces switching and gate driver losses by reducing switching frequency (FSW) under light load conditions, providing high power conversion efficiency over the entire load range. The open drain power Good (PG) signal indicates whether the output is in the range of 94.5% to 105.5% of its nominal voltage, while the break frequency prevents the inductive current (IL) from getting out of control during startup.

Thermal shut-off allows reliable fault-tolerant operation, while the high duty cycle and low pressure difference (LDO) modes enable cold start conditions for the vehicle.

The MP4321 is available in a QFN-12 (2mm X 3mm) package with wettable flanking.
