Description

The RTQ2106GCP-QA is a high efficiency, low consumption, current-mode synchronous buck converter developed for automotive applications with a 3A load capacity, operating over a 3V to 36V input voltage range, and resisting load-throwing transients up to 42V, simplifying the design of shock protection on the input side.The RTQ2104 has an output voltage range of 0.8V to VIN, low quiescent power consumption, and integrated low RDS. The RTQ2104 has a low output voltage range of 0.8V to VIN, low quiescent power dissipation, and a low RDS(ON) power MOSFET for high efficiency over a wide load range. It uses a peak current control mode and a simple internal compensation method that allows the use of small inductors for fast transient response and good loop stability.

It has an ultra-low minimum on-time parameter that keeps the operating frequency stable even when used at high step-down ratios. For switching noise sensitive applications, it can be externally synchronised from 300kHz to 2200kHz. It has a built-in extended spectrum modulation mode, which helps designers to handle EMC issues well.

The RTQ2106GCP-QA has complete protection features, such as input undervoltage lockout protection, output undervoltage protection, overcurrent protection and overheat protection. It has cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection to cope with output short-circuit situations, and a soft-start feature to avoid input current inrush during start-up. The RTQ2106 is available in a TSSOP-14 package with exposed pads.
