Supply and recycle Infineon TLE9251LE high-speed CAN FD transceivers for HS CAN networks in automotive and industrial applications.


Overview:

The TLE9251LE is part of the latest generation of Infineon's high-speed CAN transceivers for HS CAN networks in automotive and industrial applications. It is designed to meet the requirements of the older ISO11898 standards (ISO11898-2 in 2003 and ISO11898-5 in 2007) as well as the latest version of the ISO11898-2 (2016) physical layer specification. In addition, it complies with SAE standards J1939 and J2284-4/5. According to ISO 11898-2 (2016), the transceiver has a low-power standby mode with bus Wake up mode (WUP) detection.


As an interface between the physical bus layer and the HS CAN protocol controller, TLE9251LE protects the microcontroller from interference generated within the network. With very high ESD stability and perfect RF immunity, it can be used in automotive applications without the need to add additional protective devices such as suppression diodes.


Based on the high symmetry of the CANH and CANL output signals, the transceiver can deliver extremely low levels of electromagnetic radiation (EME) over a wide range of frequencies. The TLE9251LE can meet even stringent EMC test limits without the need for additional external circuitry, such as a common mode choke. The combination of excellent transmitter symmetry and optimized delay symmetry of the receiver enables the TLE9251LE to support CAN FD data frames. The device supports data rates of up to 5 MBit/s, depending on the network range and impending parasitic effects.
