Description of BQ771808DPJR

The BQ7718xy series provides overvoltage monitors and protectors for lithium-ion battery pack systems. Each battery is independently monitored for an overvoltage condition. For faster line testing, the BQ7718xy devices are available in Customer Test Mode (CTM) with significantly reduced latency.


In the BQ7718xy, an internal delay timer is started when an overvoltage condition is detected on any cell. When the delay timer times out, the output is triggered into its operating state (high or low depending on the configuration).


The BQ771808DPJR lithium-ion battery pack protection can be applied to:

- Handheld gardening tools

- Handheld power tools

- Cordless hoovers

- UPS battery backup

- Light electric vehicles (e-bikes, e-scooters, pedal-assisted bicycles)

Overvoltage protection for 2, 3, 4 and 5 cells in series

Internal delay timer

Fixed OVP threshold

Highly accurate overvoltage protection: ±10mV

Low power ICC ≈ 1µA (VCELL(ALL) < VPROTECT)

Low leakage current of less than 100nA per battery input

Provides Functional Safety
