Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), the global semiconductor leader in power systems and the Internet of Things, has equipped its TRAVEO™ T2G automotive microcontroller (MCU) family for body and clusters with a Hardware Security Module (HSM), which performs secure boot-up and secure isolation of HSM applications and data. To further enhance this module, Infineon plans to add compliance certification to the TRAVEO™ T2G automotive MCU series to the latest automotive cyber security standard ISO/SAE 21434. Customers will receive all necessary documentation, including a cybersecurity manual and a cybersecurity case report.

With the ISO/SAE 21434-compliant TRAVEO™ T2G automotive MCUs, OEMs will have significantly less work to do to fulfil the requirements of the UNECE R155 and R156 regulations, enabling them to enter the regulated market faster,’ said Ralf Koedel, Vice President Automotive MCUs at Infineon Technologies. Compliance for existing customers will be simpler, faster and cheaper, with the ability to reuse off-the-shelf hardware and software. New customers will also benefit from meeting the ISO/SAE 21434 standard.’

The TRAVEO™ T2G MCUs are powered by the Arm® Cortex®-M4 (single-core)/M7 (single/dual/quad-core) cores and feature a powerful and enhanced human-machine interface, as well as highly secure and advanced networking protocols tailored to a variety of automotive applications. The MCUs offer highly advanced real-time performance as well as functional safety and cybersecurity features, including the introduction of a Hardware Security Module (HSM), Cortex®-M0+ dedicated to safe processing flow, and embedded Flash memory in dual-area mode for FOTA requirements.

With products on track to meet this new standard, developers can continue to develop ISO/SAE 21434-compliant ECUs with TRAVEO™ T2G MCUs, helping to reduce product development costs and get products out the door faster, whether they are using existing or new platforms.
