Overview:
The AMC7908RHBR is a highly integrated power amplifier (PA) monitoring and control device capable of monitoring temperature, current and voltage. The AMC7908 bias controller is based on eight digital-to-analog converters (Dacs) with programmable output ranges. The eight gate biased outputs are turned on and off with a dedicated control pin. The gate bias switch is designed to provide fast response, enable correct power timing control, and protect depletion transistors such as GaAs and GaN.
The AMC7908 monitor is based on a high-precision multi-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The device integrates two high-voltage inputs, two high-side current detection amplifiers, and a high-precision on-chip temperature sensor.
The AMC7908 features high functional integration and a wide operating temperature range, making it ideal for use as an integrated bias control circuit for power amplifiers in RF communication systems. With its flexible DAC output range and built-in timing control features, the device can be used as a bias controller for a variety of transistor technologies, such as LDMOS, GaAs, and GaN.
