A global semiconductor shortage has limited chip manufacturing, continuing to squeeze the electronics industry. While Intel is working to improve the situation, the Intel CEO doesn't think supply will ease anytime soon.
In an interview with CNBC, the executive believes the shortage will continue through 2024, with limited manufacturing tools affecting the ability to expand production and meet demand.
Before his comments, Intel reported revenue of $18.35 billion in its latest quarter. However, shares took a beating in the trade due to lower-than-expected forecasts.
Like other chipmakers, Intel is working to alleviate the problem, including investing heavily in facilities in the U.S. and Europe.
