The AD7879-1ACPZ is a 12-bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (SAR ADC) with a synchronous serial interface and low on-resistance switch for driving 4-wire resistance touch screens. ‌AD7879-1ACPZ operates from 1.6V to 3.6V, has a throughput rate of 105 kSPS, and consumes less than 6μA in off mode ‌.

The AD7879-1ACPZ has programmable pins that can be used as a secondary input to the ADC, a battery monitor, or a general purpose interface. In addition, the programmable interrupt output can be run in three modes: as a universal interrupt (DAVINT) when new data is available; Or as a contact interrupt (PENIRQ) when the screen is touched. The AD7889 provides temperature and touch pressure measurement.
