The LPS33KTR MEMS pressure sensor integrates a piezoresistive Wheatstone Bridge method based sensing element and an I2C interface in a single compact package. The sensor element detects absolute pressure and contains a suspended membrane. When pressure is applied, membrane deflection causes an imbalance in the Wheatstone bridge, and the IC interface converts the output signal. The LPS33K has a data-ready signal that indicates when a new set of measured pressure and temperature data is available, simplifying data synchronization in digital systems using the device.
The LPS33W comes in a ceramic LGA package with a metal cover. The package is perforated to allow external pressure to reach the sensing element. The gel within the IC protects the electrical components from harsh environmental conditions.
