The 88E6176 switching chip has 7 Gigabit Ethernet MAC controllers. So there are seven ports. However, inside the switching chip, only ports 0-4 have PHY chips, which can be connected to external network cables to transmit data. Ports 5 and 6 do not have a PHY chip. It can be connected to the CPU through the digital pin for digital signal transmission. In addition, the CPU can also configure the PHY chip through the MDC_CPU and MDIO_CPU pins.
