The LT1962 low noise micropower LDO (low dropout) regulator provides 300mA of output current with a dropout of 270mV. Designed for battery powered systems, the LT1962 regulator has a low quiescent current of 30μA, making it ideal for use in smartphones and other noise sensitive applications. Unlike many other regulators, the device's quiescent current is well-controlled and does not rise when buck is applied.
The LT1962 regulator has very low output noise. With the addition of an external 0.01µF bypass capacitor, output noise is reduced to 20µVRMS (10Hz to 100kHz bandwidth) The LT1962 regulator is stable with output capacitors as low as 3.3µF. The device can be used with small ceramic capacitors without the need for series resistors required by other regulators.
Internal protection circuitry includes reverse battery protection, current limiting, thermal limiting and reverse current protection. The devices are available with fixed output voltages of 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V and 5.0V and can be used as adjustable devices with a 1.22V reference voltage.
The LT1962 regulator is available in an 8-pin, RoHS compliant, ultra-small form factor package (MSOP).
