The LPC1788FBD208K is an ARM Cortex-M3 based microcontroller for embedded applications requiring high levels of integration and low power consumption.
ARM Cortex-M3 is a next generation core with better performance than ARM7 at the same clock frequency and other system enhancements such as modern debugging features and a higher level of support block integration.The ARM Cortex-M3 CPU features a 3-stage pipeline with a Harvard architecture with separate local instruction and data buses, and a slightly lower performance third The ARM Cortex-M3 CPU also includes an internal prefetch unit to support speculative branching.
A dedicated flash accelerator is added to the LPC1788FBD208K for optimal performance when executing code from flash memory. the LPC1788FBD208K runs at up to 120 MHz CPU frequency.
