The STA709TR is a single-chip, all-CMOS, four-band front-end tuner customised for software-defined radio (SDR) systems.
When paired with an application processor, the STA709 enables SDR solutions to receive analogue (AM/FM/WX) and digital terrestrial broadcast standards such as HD-Radio™/DAB/DRM.
The STA709TR uses a front-end low-noise amplifier (LNA) covering the AM bands (LW/MW/SW), FM and WX bands, DAB band III and band L. The STA709TR has an on-chip IF filter.
After on-chip IF filtering, the STA709 digitises the signals using a high-dynamic-range ΣΔ ADC, and then performs complex phase-quadrature baseband down-conversion to provide stable digital baseband outputs for the supporting application processor.
The digital baseband signals are transferred to the application processor via a flexible and configurable serial digital interface that can operate as single-ended I2S, LVDS I2S or JESD204B.
The STA709TR offers automotive-grade and state-of-the-art RF performance with minimal external components.
