The 88W8987SA2-NYE2A0G2 is a highly integrated Wi-Fi (2.4/5GHz) and Bluetooth single-chip solution designed to meet the speed, reliability and quality requirements of ultra-high throughput (VHT) products. The system-on-chip (SoC) provides simultaneous and independent operation of IEEE 802.11ac (Wave 2), 1x1 with data transfer rates up to MCS9 (433 Mbit/s), and (Wave 2) Bluetooth 5.2 (including Low Energy (LE)). The SoC also offers Bluetooth Classic and Low Power (LE) Bluetooth smart ready operation.

Host interfaces include SDIO 3.0 and high-speed UART interfaces for connecting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies to host processors.

The device has 2 front-end configurations to accommodate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on separate or shared paths:

• 2 Antenna configurations: 1x1 WLAN and Bluetooth, Independent path (QFN)

• Single antenna configuration: 1x1 WLAN and Bluetooth, Shared Path (eWLP)
