Low IF tuner High Performance Single chip TEF6686 is a single chip radio IC with built-in AM/FM radio tuner and software-defined radio signal processing capabilities. The chip expands NXP Semiconductor's broad, industry-proven portfolio of automotive radio single tuners to deliver superior radio performance with optimized system costs, the broadest range of features and state-of-the-art software algorithms.

The device is packaged in HVQFN, takes up minimal PCB space, and is suitable for double - and multi-layer PCBS. The radio receiver includes the highest feature set, FM/AM front end, tuning synthesizer, channel filtering, FM channel balancing, FM multipath improvement, demodelling, FM stereo decoding, weak signal processing, noise blanking, and RDS, and provides an interface to the DARC demodulator/decoder.
