The IW416HN/A1CMP is a highly integrated Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth 5.2 system-on-chip (SoC) that enables low-cost connectivity solutions. The system-on-chip supports 1x1 SISO Wi-Fi operation in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, providing a full-featured Wi-Fi subsystem with peak physical layer data rates up to 150 Mbit/s. In addition to legacy Bluetooth functionality, the IW416 supports Bluetooth 5.2 features, including low-power (LE) transmissions, long-range low-power transmissions, 2 Mbps low-power transmissions, and periodic Advertised Synchronised Transmission (PAST).

The IW416 has built-in transmit (Tx) PAs, receive (Rx) LNAs and transmit/receive switches for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless technologies, simplifying the design and allowing for quick integration of dual-antenna or single-antenna operation. The dual-antenna configuration enables simultaneous Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operation. The single-antenna configuration supports simultaneous 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operation. In the 2.4 GHz band, the single-antenna configuration allows for arbitrated transceiver operation for both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The IW416 uses advanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth coexistence hardware combined with various algorithms to optimise collaboration performance and facilitate cooperative operation. In addition, the IW416 supports the coexistence of external wireless technologies through an external interface.
