The PTN3365BSMP is a high-speed level shifter that converts four channels of low-swing AC-coupled differential input signals into DVI v1.0 and HDMI v1.4b-compatible open-drain current-conducted differential output signals at up to 3.0 Gbit/s per channel to support 36-bit Deep Colour Gamut modes, 4K x 2K video formats, or 3D video data transmission. Each channel provides a level-shifted differential buffer to convert a low-swing AC-coupled differential signal on the source side to a TMSD-type DC-coupled differential current-mode signal with a 50 Ω termination resistor at 3.3 V on the destination side. In addition, the PTN3365 provides a single-ended active buffer for converting the HPD signal from 5 V on the destination side to 3.3 V on the source side, and a channel for active buffering and level shifting of the DDC channel (consisting of clock and data lines) between the 3.3 V source side and the 5 V destination side. A DDC channel using active I²C bus buffering technology is employed to provide capacitive isolation, re-driving and level shifting of the clock and data lines as well as isolation (between the source and destination sides).
