The STPM801 integrates hot-swap, soft-start and folding protection. It protects the load from high voltage transients and limits and regulates the output by controlling the voltage drop across the load dump during an overvoltage event such as a load dump. Limits and regulates the output by controlling the voltage drop across an external N-channel MOSFET. The input supply is also monitored to provide protection in overvoltage (OV) and undervoltage (UV) conditions.
