The LMR23630-Q1 SIMPLE SWITCHER® is an easy-to-use 36V, 3A synchronous buck regulator. With a wide input range of 4V to 36V, the device is suitable for voltage regulation of non-regulated power supplies in a wide range of applications from industrial to automotive. Peak current mode control is used for simple control loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The quiescent current is as low as 75µA, making it suitable for battery powered systems. Internal loop compensation means that the user does not have to take on the tedious task of designing the loop compensation components. This also minimises the number of external components. The device also features a constant frequency FPWM mode, which allows for low output voltage ripple at light loads. The extended family of devices offers a 1A load current option in a pin-to-pin compatible package, allowing for a simple and optimal PCB layout. The use of precision enable inputs simplifies regulator control and system power sequencing. Protection features include cycle-by-cycle current limiting, intermittent mode short circuit protection and thermal shutdown due to excessive power dissipation.
