The AD1938WBSTZ is a high-performance, single-chip codec with four built-in input analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs) and eight single-ended output digital-to-analogue converters (DACs) using ADI's patented multi-bit sigma-delta (Σ-Δ) architecture. It has an SPI port, which the microcontroller uses to adjust volume and many other parameters. It is powered by 3.3 V digital and analogue supplies and is available in a 48-pin (single-ended output) LQFP package. The family also includes differential DAC outputs and I2C® control port products.
