NAND Flash prices are expected to stop falling in the third quarter of this year.

February 23, according to Taiwan Economic Daily News, some analysts believe that NAND Flash prices are expected to stop falling in the third quarter of this year, provided that consumer electronics demand does not deteriorate further in the second half of this year.

Taiwan media pointed out that NAND Flash is flash memory, which has a wider range of applications than DRAM and is used in a large number of various products. After global inflation affected the demand for consumer end products, memory makers such as Armor Man, Micron and SK Hynix announced production cuts one after another, Samsung finally relented at the end of last month and will take the initiative to reduce production capacity this quarter.


TrendForce indicated in January this year that the quarterly decline in NAND Flash prices in the first quarter of 2023 would converge to 10%-15% as most suppliers had started to reduce production, and that price cutting competition would also be brought under control after the original manufacturers started to reduce production.


According to the report, NAND Flash has experienced a sharp price drop in the second half of 2022, prompting suppliers to actively reduce production, and with higher price elasticity than DRAM, TrendForce expects the NAND Flash price down cycle to end earlier than DRAM.
