The LTM4615EV is a three-output, low-voltage DC/DC μModule regulator.


Overview:

The LTM4615EV is A full 4A dual-output switching mode DC/DC power supply with an additional 1.5A VLDO (very low voltage differential) linear regulator. Built into the package are the switching controller, power FETs, inductors, a 1.5A regulator and all supporting components. The dual 4A DC/DC converter has an operating input voltage range of 2.375V to 5.5V, while the VLDO has an operating input voltage range of 1.14V to 3.5V.


The LTM4615 supports output voltage ranges from 0.8V to 5V (for DC/DC converters) and 0.4V to 2.6V (for VLdos). The output voltage of the three regulators is set by a single resistor for each output. Large capacity input and output capacitors are required to complete the design.


The flat package (height only 2.82mm) makes use of unused space at the bottom of the PC board for high-density load point adjustment. The use of high switching frequency and current mode architectures enables fast transient responses to voltage and load changes without sacrificing stability. The device supports output voltage tracking for power rail sequencing.


Additional features of the device include overvoltage protection, reentry overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, and programmable soft start.
