Littelfuse Corporation is an industrial technology manufacturing company dedicated to powering a sustainable, connected and safer world. The company is proud to announce the launch of IXTN400N20X4 and IXTN500N20X4 Super junction X4-Class power MOSFETs.
These new devices extend the current 200V X4-Class superjunction MOSFETs, some with the lowest on-resistance. These MOSFETs have a high current rating that allows designers to replace multiple parallel devices with low current ratings, simplifying the design process and improving application reliability and power density. In addition, screw mounting terminals in the SOT-227B package ensure a robust and stable installation. Watch the video.
Offering the lowest on-resistance, these new 200V MOSFETs enhance and complement the existing Littelfuse X4-Class superjunction portfolio. Compared to today's state-of-the-art X4-Class MOSFETs, these MOSFETs offer up to a factor of up to two higher current ratings and up to 63 percent lower on-conduction resistance.
The new MOSFETs are ideal for a range of low-voltage power applications where on-off losses must be minimized, including:
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
Battery charger
Battery forming
DC/ battery load switch, and power supply

Why are MOSFETs with low on-resistance preferred for applications that value minimal on-loss?
For applications that value minimal on-loss, MOSFETs (metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistors) with low on-resistance (RDS(on)) are ideal. These devices significantly reduce power consumption during operation, thereby reducing conduction losses, increasing efficiency, and reducing heat. As a result, they are well suited for power-sensitive applications such as power supplies, motor drivers and battery-powered devices, where maintaining high efficiency and thermal management is critical.
