LDC5071EPWRQ1 is an automotive inductive position sensor AFE with sine/cosine interface.


Product Description:

The LDC5071-Q1 is a high-speed and precise inductive sensor for measuring absolute linear and rotational positions in automotive and industrial applications. The device is designed to connect three inductive induction coils, usually located on a printed circuit board. One of the coils is connected to the excitation circuit of the LDC5071-Q1 and acts as a transmitter, and the other two secondary coils act as receivers. The transmitter coil induces a voltage in the secondary coil, which is a function of the conductive target above the sensor coil. Then, through the differential signal path of sine and cosine output, the demodulation signal generated during LDC5071-Q1 operation is provided.


The LDC5071-Q1 has multiple power options (5V or 3.3V) to accommodate different design options and can be connected to a microcontroller to calculate rotation angles. The LDC5071-Q1's manual and automatic gain control (AGC) can be used to control and increase the dynamic range of the output to a greater extent.

- Device temperature Class 0: Operating ambient temperature range from -40 °C to +160°C

• High resolution with ≤1 degree accuracy at speeds up to 480,000RPM

Differential signal paths for sine and cosine outputs support a wide dynamic input range

• Integrated analog front end IC for non-contact inductive position sensors for absolute rotation position measurement from 0° to 360°

• Support operation in harsh environments; Unaffected by stray magnetic fields, dirt and pollution

• No magnet required

• Input power operating mode: 5V and 3.3V

• Working current: 22mA (Max)

• Integrated LC oscillator in the 2.4MHz to 5MHz band for exciting inductive sensor coils

Differential output drivers with high voltage protection and large load capacity

• Automatic and manual gain control to maximize the dynamic range of the output driver

• Built-in sensor and power diagnostics

• The input power supply and output pins have reverse voltage and overvoltage protection from -15V to 30V
