The LTC4381 provides overvoltage protection by clamping the gate voltage of an internal 9mΩ N-channel MOSFET to limit the output voltage to a safe value during an overvoltage event, such as a sudden drop in an automotive load.
Description:
The LTC4381ADKE-2 is an integrated solution for low-static current eFuse with an internal 9mΩN channel MOSFET. Overvoltage protection is provided by clamping the gate voltage of the internal 9mΩ N channel MOSFETs to limit the output voltage to a safe value during an overvoltage event, such as an automotive load drop. The MOSFET safe working area is production-tested to ensure it can withstand high voltage transient stresses. Fixed output clamp voltages for 12V and 24V/28V systems can be selected. For any system with a voltage up to 80V, an adjustable clamp version is used.
