At the conference that day, in addition to focusing on the Huawei tri-folding screen Mate XT, Huawei once again demonstrated the strength of technological innovation. Huawei Mate XT three major advantages: the world's largest, thinnest, and the first mass-produced tri-folding screen mobile phone

It is reported that mobile phone manufacturers such as Glory, OPPO, and Transsion Holdings have all demonstrated their respective tri-folding screen concept machines, and as of now, Huawei is the first manufacturer in the world to mass produce a tri-folding screen mobile phone.

Huawei terminal BG chairman Yu Chengdong said: ‘Huawei Mate XT tri-folding screen mobile phone is the world's first mass production of tri-folding screen mobile phone, in order to solve the mass production and reliability of the product, Huawei has carried out five years of R & D and mass production research and development. It unfolds to a 10.2-inch screen, making it the world's largest folding screen phone in terms of screen area, as well as the thinnest phone at just 3.6mm thick. The Huawei Mate XT is offered in two colours for consumers to choose from, the Rui Red Edition and the Dazzling Black Edition.’

Industry sources believe that, compared to the ordinary two-folding screen mobile phone, the screen plus hinge of the three-folding screen mobile phone is a difficult problem for mass production. Right now the three folding screen mobile phone is still facing multiple challenges such as high cost, technology is not mature enough, application adaptation is difficult, and the market outlook is not clear.

The use of an ultra-thin large screen, coupled with Huawei's pioneering Tiangong hinge system, solves the Mate XT's internal and external bending problems. Huawei's Mate XT mobile phone hinge system for the first time to achieve internal and external bending, using a ‘Z’ shaped scheme, which is equivalent to a combination of an external and an internal bending, to achieve dual-track linkage. Adopting multi-directional bending flexible materials, the outer folding part is resistant to stretching, and the inner folding part is resistant to extrusion, so it can cope with tri-folding with ease.

‘It's easy to make a prototype of a tri-folding screen mobile phone, but mass production is very difficult, and it took us five years of research and development to bring the product to you. The phone features the industry's largest UTG glass at 322 square metres, and a non-Newtonian material overlay on the surface of the screen, which improves impact resistance by more than 30 per cent. The phone uses the world's thinnest silicon carbon negative battery, with three cells combined in parallel to achieve a high capacity of 5,600Amh. The phone supports 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless super fast charging, and the phone supports both LINGUATRONIC communication and TIANTONG satellite calls.’ Yu noted.

In terms of imaging, the Huawei Mate XT phone has three rear cameras, a 50MP primary camera (1/1.56"), a 12MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 12MP periscope telephoto with 5.5Xx zoom support. The rear main camera uses a 50MP ten-step variable ultra-light wide-angle lens with up to f/1.4 large aperture support, which can intelligently adjust the aperture size according to the scene, allowing for more delicate light and shadow processing. The picture below shows an image of a person taken with the Huawei Mate XT mobile phone, with the character's expression captured in a delicate way, and the contrast between light and shadow of the screen captured in place.

In terms of usage experience, Yu shares his experience. Huawei Mate XT can be used with one fold, and two folds can fully read the information, but it is a little hard to read the report. Huawei Mate XT tri-fold screen is fully unfolded for immersive reading, and there is a large screen to read.
