  On August 21, foreign media revealed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be equipped with Oryon custom core and Adreno 830 GPU, with the support of TSMC 3nm process, both CPU and GPU will usher in a large upgrade.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be powered by a self-developed Oryon CPU core and will be available in two versions: the standard SM8750 and the high-performance SM8750P. Among them, the high-performance version of the SM8750P will be exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra model. The standard version of SM8750 will be used in vivo, Xiaomi, OPPO, Honor, OnePlus, Asus and other manufacturers flagship machines.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will use TSMC's 3nm process, based on the self-developed Oryon CPU core, with two 4.0GHz high-performance cores and six 2.8GHz efficiency cores, Adreno 830 Gpus, FastConnect 7900, the first AI-enhanced solution to integrate Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, and ultra-wideband (UWB) technology on a single chip, a 5G R17 standard modem, and Qualcomm's Advanced Spectra ISP for upgrading camera features.

Compared to the A17 Pro, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is slightly faster in multi-core performance and slightly slower in the single-core category. Compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen3 flagship platform, the performance of single-core is improved by about 25%, and the performance of multi-core is improved by about 20%. Moreover, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4's GPU clock is 1250 MHz, which is 25% higher than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 leading version.

Earlier, it was also reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 GPU has only half the power of the Mediatek Tianji 9300 at the same performance. That means longer battery life for demanding tasks like gaming.
