Description:

The MCF8329A1IREER FOC three-phase BLDC gate driver provides a single-chip, code-free, senorless FOC solution for applications that drive brushless direct current motors (BLDC) or Permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). The MCF8329A offers three half-bridge gate drivers. Each is capable of driving both high - and low-side n-channel power MOSFETs. The device uses a bootstrap circuit to generate the correct gate drive voltage through an internal charge pump. This feature enhances the high-side MOSFETs. Includes a trickle charge pump that supports 100% duty cycle. The MCF8329A supports a wide input power range from 4.5V to 60V and can operate on a single power supply.


The algorithm configuration can be stored in a non-volatile EEPROM and the device can operate independently after configuration. Detect motor current using an integrated current detection amplifier that supports a single external shunt resistor. The MCF8329A integrates a number of protection features to protect equipment, systems and motors from failure events.
