The Texas Instruments BQ25756RRVR is a self-contained or I²C controlled 70V bi-directional step-down/boost charge controller with MPPT capability.

Instructions:

The BQ25756 is a wide input voltage, switching mode buck/boost Li-ion, Li-polymer or Li-iron phosphate battery charging controller with bi-directional power flow support. The device not only provides accurate charge current and charge voltage regulation, but also provides automatic charge pre-regulation, charge termination and charge status indication, enabling efficient battery charging over a wide voltage range. The device integrates all loop compensation functions of the buck/boost converter, thus providing an easy-to-use high-density solution. In reverse mode, the device draws power from the battery and provides protection by adjusting the input terminal voltage through an added constant current loop, enabling USB-PD EPR power configuration.

In addition to the I2C host controlled charging mode, the device also supports independent charging modes through resistor programmable limits. The input current, charge current, and charge voltage regulation targets can be set via ILIM_HIZ, ICHG, and FB pins, respectively.
