BCM54185B0IFBG is a fully integrated octal gigabit transceiver. The PHY performs all of the physical layer functions on standard Category 5 UTP cable, for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T. The PHY can evaluate the condition of the twisted-pair wiring to ensure that the wiring can support operation at gigabit speeds, and detect and correct most common wiring problems.
