Product description

The ADS52J65IRGCR is an 8-channel, 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) using a CMOS process and innovative circuit technology. The device operates with very low power consumption, uses 2Vpp full scale inputs, and provides extremely high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance. The device provides an idle SNR of 80dBFS and a full-scale SNR of 78dBFS at 5MHz. The high input bandwidth of 250MHz makes the device suitable for a wide range of applications, such as high-frequency medical ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, and multi-channel data acquisition. The ADC incorporates an internal benchmark that is trimmed to match different devices.

The ADS52J65 features advanced digital features, including a digital I/Q demodulator with fractional decimation filters. The device encodes ADC data from individual channels in 8B to 10B format, sends them as serializer/deserializer data streams using a current mode logic (CML) output buffer, and complies with the JESD204B standard. ADC data from all eight channels can be output via a single CML buffer (single channel serializer/deserializer) with a data rate limit of up to 12.8Gbps. Use the serializer/deserializer output to reduce the number of interface lines. In this way, together with the low-power design, eight channels can be packaged in a 9mm × 9mm VQFN package, enabling high-density system integration.

• Full scale SFDR: -85DBC (fin = 10MHz)

• Analog input - 3dB bandwidth = 250MHz

• The maximum input signal frequency when the input is 2VPP = 130MHz

• Fast and consistent overload recovery

• Advanced digital features

- Automatic DC offset voltage correction

- Digital flow balancing

• Digital I/Q demodulator

- Fractional extraction filter M = 1 to 63 (unit increments of 0.25)

- The data output rate decreases after extraction

- Power consumption is 64mW/ channel at 80MSPS and extraction factor = 2

- On-chip RAM with 32 preset modes

• JESD204B subclasses 0, 1 and 2

- Each JESD channel contains 2, 4, or 8 channels

- 10Gbps JESD interface

- Support channel rates up to 12.8Gbps for short trace lengths (less than 5 inches)

• 64-pin non-magnetic 9mm x 9mm package
