Description:
The AM263x Sitara™ Arm® microcontroller is designed to meet the complex real-time processing needs of the next generation of industrial and automotive embedded products. The AM263x MCU family includes a number of pin-to-pin compatible devices with up to four 400MHz Arm® Cortex®-R5F cores. The Arm® R5F subsystem can optionally be programmed to operate in lock-step or dual-core mode, enabling multiple functional safety configurations. The Industrial Communication Subsystem (PRU-ICSS) supports integration of industrial Ethernet communication protocols (such as PROFINET®, TSN, Ethernet/IP®, EtherCAT®, and several others), standard Ethernet connectivity, and custom I/O interfaces. The series is designed for future motor control and digital power applications using advanced analog induction and digital drive modules.
Multiple R5F cores are arranged into a cluster subsystem with 256KB of shared tightly coupled memory (TCM) and 2MB of shared SRAM, significantly reducing the need for external memory. Extensive ECC is included in on-chip memory, peripherals, and interconnections to enhance reliability. A granular firewall managed by a Hardware Security Manager (HSM) enables developers to meet stringent security sensitive system design requirements. The AM263x device also provides encryption and decryption acceleration and secure startup.
