RECOM's new 15 W AC/DC converter is available for both open and DIN rail mounting, both for off-board and DIN rail mounting. The open RACM15E-K/OF product measures 3.1 x 0.9 x 0.8 inches (80 x 23.8 x 22 mm) with a "MolexTM" connector, while the RACM15E-K/PMAD product features an IP20-rated protective housing with push-in terminals. It measures 3.2 x 1.1 x 1.1 inches (83 x 26.4 x 29.5 mm). In DIN rail applications, the product is suitable for standard 1.5 "module" widths with no spacing restrictions between adjacent modules.

Output voltages of 3.3V (rated at 12 W), 5, 12, 15, 24 and 30 VDC are available, with complete protection against overvoltage, overload and short circuit failures. Under overload conditions, the product has a constant current limiting feature for nonlinear loads and a self-resetting "burp" mode in case of short circuits. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, and derating begins when the ambient temperature reaches 50°C in still air.

The RACM15E-K series is safety certified to IEC/EN 62368-1, IEC/EN 60335-1, IEC 61558 and IEC 60601-1/ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1. In medical applications, these products support dual patient protection measures (2 x MOPP), Overvoltage Class II (OVCII), operating altitudes up to 5000 m, and meet the "BF" shock current specification of up to 100 µA in the application section. According to IEC 61558-2-16 and IEC 60335-1, these products can also be used in OVCIII environments, operating at altitudes up to 3,000 meters.

The no-load current of the product is usually less than 100 mW to meet the environmental design requirements and to comply with the conducted EMI EN 55032 Class B standard under floating loads.

RACM15E-K products work up to 86% efficiently, contributing to a long service life and high reliability, with an average time between failures (MTBF) of more than 1 million hours according to MIL-HDBK-217 (Ground Benign).
